Two men arrested over attack on teenager in Bolton are bailed

Two men who were arrested after a 15-year-old boy was hospitalised due to an assault in Great Lever on Sunday night have been bailed, police say.

Around 11.15pm Sunday evening police were called to the Royal Bolton Hospital following a report of an assault on a teenage boy.

Police say a 15-year-old boy was attacked while in an area near Settle Street, Great Lever, between 7.30pm and 8pm.

He sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged, police confirmed.

A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent after the incident.

A 20-year-old male was also been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.

However, both have now been bailed police confirmed.

An investigation is ongoing, with police appealing for witnesses for help.

Detective Sergeant Dominic Beaver of GMP’s Bolton district, said: “We are following all available lines of enquiry to ensure the person responsible for this senseless and violent attack is brought to justice.
