Bolton areas recording lowest coronavirus infection rates
Some areas of Bolton are recording the lowest rate of coronavirus cases in the region, according to Public Health England.
Coronavirus cases in Bolton have been on the rise in recent weeks, however, the borough still has the lowest infection rate in Greater Manchester as a whole.
The number of cases varies between different areas of the town with some places recording a relatively low amount of cases whereas other areas record a very high amount.
There are areas all across the borough that are recording lower rates of infection, but, the highest rates of infection appear to be mostly concentrated in Westhoughton.

Westhoughton West is recording the highest rate of cases in the borough, with 75 cases in the seven days to July 19 giving the area an infection rate of 934.1 if taken over 100,000 people.
Westhoughton Daisy Hill is recording the third highest rate at 824.7 per 100,000 with Westhoughton East recording the fifth highest at 739.3.
Away from Westhoughton, Highfield and New Bury has the second highest amount of cases after recording 71 new positive cases in the days to July 19 at a rate of 831.1 per 100,000 people.

Ainsworth and Bradley Fold has the fourth highest rate, at 785.8 per 100,000.
It is not all bad news however, as some areas have actually seen a fall in cases over the seven days of data.
Gilnow and Victory saw 10 fewer cases in the seven days to July 19 compared to the previous seven days, with its infection rate dropping to 407.7 per 100,000 as a result.

Little Lever also recorded 22 fewer cases in comparison, giving it an infection rate of 332.2 per 100,000 Ââ" the fifth lowest rate in the borough as a whole.
Smithills saw six fewer cases of Covid in the seven days to July 19, however, it kept a relatively high infection rate of 522.9 cases per 100,000 people.
There are four boroughs in Bolton recording infection rates below 300 per 100,000, giving them some of the lowest amount of cases in the whole Greater Manchester region.

Lever Edge Ââ" which at times has recorded some of the highest rates in Bolton Ââ" is now recording the lowest rate having only seen 21 new cases in the seven days to July 19, giving it an infection rate of 238.3 over 100,000 people.
Lostock with Ladybridge has the next lowest rate at 271.9, while Rumworth South is next with a rate of 287.5.
Burnden with Great Lever is the last area to see a case rate under 300, recording a rate in the seven days to July 19 of 299.5 over 100,000 people.
